Toilets

Before 1982, toilets used between 5-7 gallons of water per flush. From 1982-1993 toilets used an average of 3.5 gallons per flush, and from 1994 later, toilets have been redesigned to only use 1.6 gallons per flush, in america, roughly 6 billion gallons of water per day is used just to cater for toilets. Did you know that november 19th is world toilet day?

Nobody really knows who invented the first toilets. Some early contenders are the scots and the greeks. In the 1880's,  england's prince Edward hired a prominent plumber called thomas crapper to construct lavatories in several royal palaces. People often believe that Crapper invented the toilet, but he didn't. He was, however, the first person to display his bathrooms in showrooms, so customers would immediately think of him. Toilet paper was invented in the 1890's, but wasn't heavily marketed till 1902. Only 60% of the worlds population has access to proper sanitation.  Remember this,
If its yellow, let it mellow. If its brown, flush it down. If you can follow these simple rules,  then an amazing amount of water will be saved.
